Programme Overview
The Digital Democracy Initiative for Sub-Saharan Africa (DDISA) is a CIVICUS-funded regional support mechanism, implemented by OpenUp in partnership with CTIN and Wits Enterprise. It provides financial and non-financial support (grants, capacity-building, mentorship and network access) to local civil society organisations working on digital civic participation, transparency and inclusive democracy across Sub-Saharan Africa, aligned with SDG 16. Two cohorts of local collaborators are supported across the programme’s twelve-month lifecycle, running to December 2026.
